What is Semi Vanilla?

Updated 2026-10-06

Semi Vanilla is our take on Unturned survival with the core experience left alone. If you have played a normal vanilla server, you already know how to play here. The difference is a short list of quality-of-life additions, not gameplay-changing systems.

What is different from pure vanilla?

Semi Vanilla adds exactly three things on top of the vanilla experience:

  • /tpa lets you teleport to other players.
  • /home lets you teleport back to your bed.
  • Decay zones slowly damage structures in certain areas of the map.

That is the whole list. There are no kits, no shops, no item spawning, no teleports to coordinates and no paid advantages. Everything you own, you found or built yourself.

Commands

Command What it does Cooldown
/tpa <player> Sends a teleport request to a player 300 seconds
/home Teleports you to your bed 300 seconds
/inzone Shows whether your current area is a decay zone none

Both teleport commands have a 5 minute cooldown, so plan your trips. Accepting a teleport request is free for the receiving player.

Decay zones

Some areas of the map are decay zones. Inside these zones, player-built structures and barricades slowly take damage over time and will eventually break down if nobody maintains them.

Two things to know:

  1. You can check any time with /inzone. It tells you whether the area you are standing in is a decay zone or not.
  2. Decay damage can be repaired with a Blowtorch. If you keep your base maintained, a decay zone is not a death sentence for your build.

Decay zones mostly exist to keep unused or abandoned constructions from covering the map forever. If you play actively, you will rarely notice them.

The decay system is explained in detail in the Decay Zones guide.

Who is this server for?

Semi Vanilla is for players who want the vanilla survival loop with a bit less walking. You still loot, build, farm and fight the same way. You just do not have to walk 20 minutes back to your base after a raid went wrong.
